-- Contributed by: Del SandeenI am the same as baretree above. I do the same, always have something femme on. I don't buy men's clothes unless I absolutely have to. Womens clothing is much nicer and more sensual than men's.

-- Contributed by: Del SandeenWith some social acceptance on the rise many of us that consider ourselves transgender are actively out in public. Although not a new idea, both bi-gender and blended-gender expressions are becoming more accepted. Many Transsexuals like myself find that being forced into the black and white gender roles does not always work. I wear what I feel like wearing for the given social situation. I work in male attire, spend my home time in mixed gender clothing and go out for fun in full feminine attire. I consider myself a third gender.
Thank you, Steve, for that very in-depth information. It should be helpful for our readers who wear feminine clothing for whatever reason.

Since 2000, with the creation of ComfiLon, a company that sells pantyhose made specifically for women under the brand name ActivSkin--there have been a growing number of men buying and wearing pantyhose. Many wear them for the leg support they provide, for those with venous insufficiency (poor leg circulation), varicose veins, etc. They are also good for providing mild compression for athletic purposes such as running or cycling. They also provide warmth on chilly days without excessive bulk, and they're not too hot after the exercise session is finished.
The Wall Street Journal featured a front page article on men wearing pantyhose (Kingsize, Not Queen--More Men Wearing Pantyhose, 2/19/2002). Since then, there have been many news articles on the topic, both in print and on the internet. Since late 2007, the storyline has picked up speed and there is hardly a week goes by that there does not appear an article somewhere on the internet on men wearing tights, pantyhose, or 'mantyhose.'
Several online forums exist also (i.e., Legwear As Unisex Fashion, on Delphi), to provide an opportunity for men who wear pantyhose for non-fetish/sexual reasons to share stories and gain confidence to wear them openly in public without fear of ridicule. More and more, men who wear pantyhose with shorts can expect to go about their business out in public without even so much as a glance or raised eyebrow, since this trend has become so well publicized--and tolerance, if not out-and-out acceptance, is the default expectation.
